Abstract:
China-Africa relations have seen significant growth over the past two decades, driven by China’s quest for natural resources and Africa’s need for infrastructure development. The relationship is characterized by extensive trade, investment, and diplomatic engagements. Initiatives like the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) have bolstered economic ties. However, this relationship also raises concerns about debt sustainability, labor practices, and the environmental impact of Chinese projects in Africa. Moreover, China’s influence in Africa has strategic implications, as it seeks to expand its geopolitical footprint. The dynamics of China-Africa relations are complex, involving a mix of cooperation and controversy, with significant implications for both regional and global politics.
