Abstract:
Southeast Asian politics is characterized by a diverse mix of political systems, ranging from democracies to authoritarian regimes. The region faces numerous challenges including political instability, ethnic and religious conflicts, corruption, and the impacts of climate change. Key issues include the struggle for democracy in countries like Myanmar, the strategic rivalry between China and the United States, and the economic integration efforts within ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations). Southeast Asia’s geopolitical significance is underscored by its strategic location and the presence of crucial maritime routes. The political landscape is dynamic, influenced by internal developments and external pressures.
