Abstract:
Climate change poses a significant threat to global security, impacting various aspects of human life, governance, and international relations. As global temperatures rise, so do the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events, leading to severe consequences such as food and water scarcity, displacement of populations, and heightened competition for resources. These environmental changes exacerbate existing social and political tensions, particularly in vulnerable regions, potentially leading to conflicts and instability. Climate change also influences national security policies, prompting nations to reconsider their military and strategic priorities. Furthermore, the interconnectedness of global economies means that climate-induced disruptions in one part of the world can have far-reaching implications, affecting international trade, migration patterns, and geopolitical alliances. Addressing these challenges requires comprehensive international cooperation, innovative policy-making, and a commitment to sustainable development practices.
